Art Hullabaloo

Attend the Fourth Annual Art Hullabaloo on Saturday, Sept. 18, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in downtown Westcliffe.  Parade at noon.  Performers, jugglers, clowns, musicians, drummers and folks who love any form of art are invited to take part.

Sponsored by the Sangres Art Guild, the free event promotes all forms of art.  There will be gallery walks, sidewalk-chalk art competition, the Salida Circus, pottery and painting demonstrations, music, face painting and children’s art activities.

Saturday’s events end with give-aways, prizes and the Plein Air art reception at the 3rd St. Gallery.

LUMINARIAS:

Redwing artist, Dave Roberts, will exhibit 20 luminarias made from recycled propane tanks.  Each one projects 6 feet.  Friday, Sept. 17th after dark, Dave requests students to outline each projected design, as they see it, with chalk.  Saturday during Hullabaloo, anyone may choose to complete the interior of the  luminaria projection as part of the “Sidewalk Chalk Art” competition.  The luminarias are solar and sell for $125 each.  If a luminaria sells, whoever designed that sidewalk section will receive a $40 bonus.  Contact Jacque Keller for more information - 719-783-3706.

* * * Great opportunity for extra credit for the high school and middle school art students!
